When opened our doors in 1995, we set out to be one of the best bakeries in San Francisco. We had a mission: to create a place where everything is made from scratch on premise, and baked by people standing 10 feet away from customers. Over the last 20 years, we’ve adapted our menu to changing tastes and consistently improved our recipes. While we’re still dedicated to offering a full line of baked goods using fine ingredients like vat-cultured butter, stone ground whole wheat flour, and mission figs — what makes us different is our belief that making great bread shouldn’t be the entire experience. A great neighborhood bakery should be the place where you start your day with a warm smile and a cup of coffee from someone who knows your name. So, yes we’re passionate about baking great bread, but we know being a neighborhood bakery is about much more.
